Parent Involvement Program

Parents are a key component to our success as a Catholic school in the Diocese of Richmond.  The Parent Involvement Program (PIP) is designed to meet the needs of the school in the areas where it is necessary to rely on “volunteers.” Most parachial schools require parents to serve in some capacity and many public schools do as well.  Our service requirement is relatively modest, but it is our way of getting you started.  The PTO sends an explanatory letter and involvement pledge during the summer outlining expectations and opportunities for serving.  All parents serving students directly must attend a VIRTUS workshop as required by the Diocese of Richmond, and must be screened by Child Protective Services of Virginia, and the Central Criminal Record Exchange through the Virginia State Police.  These forms may be filled out at the school office and will be sent to the proper authorities.

The following are samples of the service opportunities that exist: classroom volunteers, cafeteria workers, library assistants, Comet Shop volunteers and special PTO projects.

St. Benedict School Parent Teacher Organization

St. Benedict School has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).  All parents of children enrolled in St. Benedict School are automatically enrolled as members.  The PTO Executive Board meets once a month and most often on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
